Chance my final list of schools? (UChicago, Columbia, others...)

Objective:

  • SAT I: 2050, will not submit
  • ACT: 34 (35 E, 33 M, 36 R, 33 S)
  • SAT II: Haven't taken, but will take Math 2 and Literature, expect 700+
  • Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.91
  • Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Top 25%
  • AP (place score in parenthesis): AP Calc BC (5); AP Euro (5); AP English Lit (5)
  • IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
  • Senior Year Course Load: AP Stats, AP Physics, IB Spanish SL, IB English HL2, AP Art History, AP US History, AP Gov, Student Government
  • Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): none

Subjective:

  • Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
  • Student Body Officer (Publicity Officer in charge of publicizing school events and helping to plan/coordinate events around the school; leader of the school's first ever Multicultural Week)
  • Founded a club at my school that allows for open discussions between students about current events or controversial topics that would otherwise not get talked about (President and founder)
  • Published writer for a major news website (won't say which one for privacy reasons). I got paid $500 for a personal essay I wrote.
  • Have participated in the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) competition 3 years in a row, winning twice.
  • Volunteer at the state natural history museum with over 100 hours working with kids ages 5-13 in summer camp programs.
  • Peer tutoring & paid babysitting
  • Self-taught graphic designer, will probably submit an art portfolio to top schools.
  • I'm also a member of the National Honors Society, Multicultural Club, Spanish Club, and a few other things.
  • Essays: will be very good. I've already begun working on them and I've always been a good writer.
  • Recs: I'm getting my Euro teacher, who I know very well, to write one. I'm also going to ask my physics teacher who should do a decent one, though he doesn't know me too well. My counselor's will be generic since she has a lot of students, but I'm also going to submit an extra one from a coworker who really likes me.

Other:

  • Country (if international applicant): USA
  • School Type: public
  • Ethnicity: Hispanic
  • Gender: Male
  • Income Bracket: ~$100,000, will probably need some financial aid
  • Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM

Special circumstances: I’ve moved around a lot in my life (across states and countries), and I plan to address this in my essays. I’m currently attending my third high school and tenth school overall, which has made it difficult to participate consistently in extracurriculars. However, it’s also shaped a lot of who I am as a person so I think it adds a cool facet to my application.

The school list (OOS for all):

  • Columbia RD
  • UChicago EA
  • University of Michigan Ann Arbor
  • Carnegie Mellon University (double legacy)
  • Indiana University @ Bloomington
  • Ohio State University @ Columbus

You are a very strong applicant. UChicago is quirky and hard to predict but you have an interesting and genuine story. Columbia is hyper competitive but you are in a good demographic. My guess is you will be admitted to every school except Columbia and maybe 50/50 for U Chicago. Your essays are going to be vital

^Most of these schools seem to be matches, except for Columbia. I’m sure if you write good essays, Escpecially for Uchicago and Columbia, you have a good shot. Good Luck!
