Chance my final six

So I've finally decided on these six:

1 - University of Notre Dame
2 - NYU
3 - SUNY: Binghamton
4 - Penn State (University Park)
5 - Bentley University
6 - Boston College

I'm going to major in accounting. My average is like 86.1. My highest SAT scores are M: 610, CR: 590, W:570. My SAT II's scores are Math Level 1: 600 and Literature: 520.

I know that some of these schools a re a bit of a stretch...so what do you'll think?

hmmmm 86.1 is about a 3.2 gpa...if that's a weighted GPA, then these are all reaches. If it is an unweighted GPA and you have honors/AP's, SUNY may be possible as well as Bentley..otherwise, reaches. please tell me you have already been accepted to a safety???

i think that's my unweighted average. and all my classes are honor's courses.

and i haven't applied anywhere yet....is it looking that bad for me?!? o.0

are you instate or OOS? I wouldn't say it looks bad, I would say you need a safety school; one in which you are sure that you will get in and that you would be happy....I see that you have been on CC since Sept; I would recommend that you search other threads for safeties and talk to you GC about your choices....

I live in NY so most of these schools would be OOS, is that good or bad?

and I thought that Penn State (1st choice: University Park 2nd choice: Harrisburg) and Bing were my safeties -_-" (

Ehhhhh Bing is definitely not a safety.

Class 2008 Profile (Middle 50%):

GPA: 90 to 95
ACT 27-32
SAT 1200-1375

Things will be a little bit more competitive this year too. I would suggest you check out University at Buffalo. Good luck!

well thanks for the feedback =/

anyone else?

all reaches except penn state. but u still have a shot...i would suggest applying to two safety schools, but don;t lose confidence in these. after all, what have you got to lose?

Penn State would be a great safety for your scores. And if you have stellar extra currics and a good attitude the whole college process will deliver you some great results :)
best of luck babe

Notre Dame & Boston College are reaches. NYU will be quite difficult if you are applying to the Stern School of Business, although you may get into the general studies program. Consider applying to Indiana University in Bloomington.
Responding to the post below: Penn State may admit you to the Summer term easier than to the Fall term--see if you can start college early.

With a 3.2?? The Penn State University Park gpa average is 3.5-39. You would probably be able to get into a branch campus with a 3.2,but not main. Honestly, I don't think you have a safety on your list. Bentley would be a match, but the rest are different level of reaches.

With a 3.2 and a 1200,

1 - University of Notre Dame-nope
2 - NYU-nope
3 - SUNY: Binghamtonn-high reach
4 - Penn State (University Park)-high reach
5 - Bentley University-match to low reach
6 - Boston College-nope

for penn state i wouldn't mind going to harrisburg.

and how does the NYU general studies program work?

hopefully i can get into at least one of these schools on my list -_- do you guys have any suggestions on some decent accounting schools close to NY? (no more than 5 hrs away)

Villanova University may be an option for accounting.

"SUNY Binghamton- high reach"----Mid reach at most.

villanova should hardly be considered a safety in ihatecollegeapps case, if nyu's a high reach, then so is villanova...

try SUNY stonybrook
Eugene Lang New school

but stonybrook doesn't offer an accounting major =/

buuuuuummmmp
