-school doesn't offer honors classes, but mentions "due to the rigorous curriculum of the school, no classes are designated as honors" in school description.

My only B's have been graphic design freshman year, AP Gov last year(will a 5 on the exam atone for this), and a mandatory composition class at our school this summer? I got straight A's junior year.

-will mention Math, Economics, and Chemistry respectively as my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice majors. I want to be an investment banker or hedge fund manager when I grow up.

Recommendations: I know several teachers at my school who like me and will probably write well about me.
Essay: 1) talk about high adventure programs in Boy Scouts
2) talk about how certain adversity in a trumpet competition didn't kill my trumpet passions.

My list:
Brown
UChicago
Duke
GaTech
Harvard
Northwestern
MIT
UPenn (Wharton)
Princeton
Rice
Stanford
WashUSTL
Yale

Georgia Tech is your only safety? I can hardly say you have matches (but I’m pessimistic, so others know better), maybe a few schools fit high match and then you have a swarm of reaches. You posted this just five days ago if I’m correct. Anyways, as people have learned, I’m not exactly the best informed, in fact, I’m class of 2011 too, so, as is my disclaimer, take what I say with a drop (or bucketful) of caution. Once again, everything seems okay.

i wouldn’t trust what i say either, but i would say you have a fighting chance at most of the schools on your list due to your strong EC’s rather than you fairly strong test scores.
i think the hardest schools on your list are Harvard, MIT, UPenn (because you want into Wharton), Yale, and Stanford. These are definitely reaches but they’re pretty much reaches for 99.9% of its applicants.

anyway, you’re in good position but i do suggest more safeties. i have a bro who worked in investment banking and he came from NYU’s Stern, perhaps that could be another choice?

Your list is too reach heavy, because all of the schools (except perhaps GaTech) have very low acceptance rates. Sure your stats are good, but most students who apply to those schools with similar stats are rejected. You need to add some schools with lower selectivity levels as well.

How about adding U Rochester? Lehigh?

If you post on the Parents Forum, you could likely get other good suggestions.
