Hello, first of all, I would like to apologize in case I accidentally posted in the wrong section.
Back on topic, I am a current Sophomore at my school (class of 2014), and am strongly considering the possibility of not taking a science class next year. To understand my rationale you should first look at my transcript/projected classes (below).

Freshman Year

Honors Freshman English

Honors Integrated Algebra+Trigonometry 3

Core PE
Chinese 3

Sophomore Year

Honors Sophomore English

Honors Integrated Algebra+Precalc 4
AP Physics B
Chemistry
Orchestra
AP Chinese

Projected Junior Year

AP English Language
AP US History
AP Calc
AP Econ
Orchestra
Cisco Networking Academy (2 periods, ends with CCNA Certification)

Projected Senior Year

AP Senior English

Cisco Networking (2 periods, ends with CCNP Certification)

As you can see, at the end of this year I will have three science credits, (one from last year and two from this year), however, because I intend to take AP Econ because the teacher would write me a good letter of recommendation, and because Econ is interesting. The problem that my friends saw, was that I want to go into a STEM background, and they assert that by not taking a year of science classes next school year, it would hurt my admission chances, even though by the end of senior year, I would have four years of science classes.

tl;dr does it matter that I take a science class every year, even though I will have four credits of science if I don't take a science next year?
