my kid applied ed to WASH U. He has a 34 ACT score and a GPA of about 3.8 unweighted (weighted about 4.45). He has taken about 6 AP classes and scored 4's and 5's on all. He is taking another 4 AP classes this year (senior). he is a hispanic male. What are his chances ???

I would imagine that WashU would like more Hispanic males, so that could be a hook for him. He has great stats. Good luck.

This would be better placed in the chance forum

happy1, sorry! I am new to this…didnt know there was a “chance” forum. Anyway, any feedback ?

Washu prefers a kid with high numbers, plus his ethnicity will give him some boost

I would encourage you to visit the campus again if he is truly interested. See if you can take a class and find out about opportunities for minority students. The extra interest goes a long way. My daughter attended Wash U and we visted twice and she took some math classes. Her stats were similar to your sons, she had 10 AP classes with 5’s, and SAT II subject test scores. She also took a college math class in high school, but is not a minority. Good luck! It’s an amazing place!
