Chance my Lopsided student!

This is actually for my son who's a rising senior and wants to apply early decision to Duke (Trinity). If he doesnt get accepted there, he will apply to Vanderbilt, Cornell, JHU, Virginia, and UNC.

So many posts on here have incredible SAT scores and resumes so I want to know if he is reaching too much?

White Male
Western Pennsylvania

SAT superscore (took twice)

CR 600
MA 790
WR 580

He took 3 subject tests THE MORNING AFTER HIS PROM on 2 hours sleep!

MATH 1 720
MATH 2 680
CHEM 680

He has extracurriculars and works a part time job while in school but I wont list..consider them average

Rank is 6 of 130 in his class (top 5%)

So lets hear brutal honesty.... On the "whats my chances" site it says a 26% chance at Duke but ED would increase that to Almost 50% Im thinking.

Vanderbilt and Cornell dont use the writing portion of the SAT but I know Duke does. Will the fact he is so lopsided kill his chances?

Thanks for any and all input!

I think he has a chance at all of them but they are all small reaches. Especially UNC for OOS. I WOULD LOOK FOR A COUPLE SAFETIES. what is his GPA?

thanks ahsmuch, his GPA is 4.0+ and he took the most rigorous course schedule offered at his High School which included 5 AP courses
