youll get harvard. you have legacy.
:D

XP Sadly I don’t think that matters that much in my case.
I also forgot to mention:
I’m applying to most of these schools as a religion/bio double major.
I have not seen my recommendation letters, but my teachers really like me so I have a feeling that they’re phenomenal.

I’m guessing you go to stoga? You have a decent shot at most of those schools, except at the schools like Harvard and UChicago your GPA is a tad low. And how is your weighted >1 point higher than your Unweighted?

At my school our weighted grades are on a 5.3 scale.
Does it help to go to a ultra-competitive high school? Or does it hurt me because I am up against kids who have 5.0 GPAs and amazing SAT scores?
I’m a bit sad my GPA is too low for UChicago :frowning:
If it helps at all, I have gotten amazing scores in my senior year so far. I only have one B and it’s in an AP math class.

GPA and SAT are low for any ivy. Combine that with average ECs, coming from an overrepresented state and being a white female and ivies probably aren’t in the cards, even as a legacy.

You’re a good candidate for most of the others. Where you rank (colleges will know a close approximation even when schools don’t officially rank), schools like Chicago, Rice, Middlebury will take very few who are not top 10%.

And yes, it hurts a lot at highly selective schools when classmates with higher SATs also apply. They also keep data on kids who’ve applied from your HS over the years, this helps them see where you rank.

I think your GPA is fine for Chicago, as well as for every other school. Despite what CCers think, colleges these days aren’t looking for perfection. In truth, though, your SATs are a tad lower than what the most selective schools on your list (Harvard, Chicago, Dartmouth) are expecting.

Your ECs, class schedule, and AP scores are impressive. If you wrote truly fantastic essays, I think you have a decent chance at getting in anywhere.

Thanks all!
Bump.

Wow and it’s supposed to be >40 hours, not less than. I don’t know if that affects anything though.
