Cornell - reach (low reach/maybe a match if you do ED)
Berkeley - which department? EECS is a high reach and L&S is a match/low reach, but it really depends on your UC GPA
Washington - match, but he probably won’t be directly admitted to CS. If he’s not a direct admit, the CS major is super-competitive to get into even when he completes his freshman year, so I strongly suggest that you look into other schools if he isn’t directly admitted to CS.
UIUC - match/low reach (CS is one of the toughest majors to get into)
UT Austin - match/low reach, as they accept very few OOS students
Michigan - match/low reach for engineering
Maryland - safety
UCLA - match/low reach
Did he take all those APs in his sophomore and freshman year, or are some of those scores predictions?
If not a direct admit to Washington CS as a freshman, his academic record indicates he would have an excellent chance at admission to the major after completing his prerequisites.
^ although true, I personally wouldn’t take the risk if I am committed to the CS major, unless I am willing to major in some other field at UW.
For that particular student, the risk would be minimal if he applies himself to his studies freshman year.
You need to relax and let your son do this kind of thing on his own. No need to be one of those crazy Asian parents nobody likes that.
If I may add, yes Junior year list of AP courses is Comp Sc,; US History, Calc AB, Phy A, English, Stats and the grades in those AP courses are predicted grades.
Excellent profile , more leadership positions & great essay and it’s a plus for ucla
