You are out of state for Maryland? Then where are you instate for?

Please note that ‘chances’ threads are really guessing games and no one knows, especially not the high school kids who frequent this forum. You yourself already know if your student is in-range stats-wise for these schools. If you are not familiar, you can look up stats of accepted students. But you can’t look up the essays or teacher recommendations or intangibles.

He has a very good chance at UC Berkeley. Are you able to pay OOS costs for UCB at around $55K/year? He may qualify for Regents which pays about $10K/year. At the very minimum, he would pay $23K/year OOS tuition plus your EFC, so if money is no problem, UCB would be a good Match.
