Chance My Son, Please

Son is junior in excellent public (MA) school. Has a 4.7weighted GPA (I have no idea how this translates on the 4.0 scale) – solid B student, having taken mainly Advanced level classes - will take 3 APs next year (Bio, Stats, Latin). President of language club; varsity golf and crew; few other clubs at school. Has community service and volunteered a bit throughout high school.

School doesn’t rank but know he’s around 75/260.

SATs: 700M, 620CR, 520W – will take again later this Spring.

Also, will not be applying for financial aid. By the way, does this even matter?

Anyone out there who can give me his/her honest opinion? Thanks!!

Easily in, and probably with a nice scholarship.

Freestyla: that 4.7GPA is on a 6.0 scale -- B average. Not sure how it translates on the regular 4.0 scale.

you say your son goes to an excellent school, and yet he is in the 30th percentile with a B Average...something doesn't add up. I think you overestimated your sons institution.

Oh, I thought it was out of 5.0... And when you said "B Student", I thought you meant "business student" for some reason..

I'd say he has a decent shot at Bentley anyway.. Those very nice SAT scores. Tell him to kick it up a notch during his last semester as a junior!

Sounds like a solid applicant. Bentley will be an upper target school :)
