Son (white male) is a junior in excellent public (MA) school; has a 4.7 weighted GPA (have no idea how this translates on a traditional scale but he's a solid B student); has taken 3/4 of his classes at the Advanced level and will take 3 APs next year (Bio, Stats, Latin); President of Latin Club; varsity golf and crew; few other clubs at school; has done a little volunteering throughout high school.

School doesn't rank but he's @ 75/260 (top 30%).

SATs: 700M, 620CR, 520W - will take again later this Spring.

Also, not applying for financial aid. Does this really even matter?

Any honest thoughts out there will be much appreciated -- thanks!!

Take a look at the recent posts of students shocked to be waitlisted at Lehigh, and I think you will see his rank and scores might make him a waitlist candidate as well.

I think your son has a decent chance of getting into Lehigh. He should work on improving his class rank a bit (I was accepted into Lehigh and I am top 20%) and his SATs are a bit low, you probably want to get at least a 600 in each subject. Other wise, his clubs should give him a little boost.

lehigh puts a HUGE amount of weight on showing interest and visits to the campus. They also do give interviews[which are NOT required] but every bit of interest helps.I also agree about trying to up the SAT a bit more. Also my d did very well on her ACT with writing and they really liked that, maybe consider that test as well.
