Very strong chance of admission ED.

thanks, its so much more relieving to get others opinions

My D had scores similar to yours last year. She and many others were wait listed. She wrote a strong letter indicating interest and was accepted several weeks later. Don't know if it's urban legend or not - was told that NU weights out of town applicants who take the time to visit. Something about keeping their "yield" figures high - # who accept relative to # they offer admission to. If you take the trouble to visit, presumably you are more likely to accept.

^^ I don't think NU defers ED...?

i thought they did?

I was told that while they reserve the right to do so, ED is mostly accept or decline. Deferral is extremely rare apparently...

I think Dadof3's daughter applied RD, otherwise it would have been months instead of weeks before she was taken off the waitlist.

I really hope they weight out of town applicant visits... :/

If you're applying ED and you get accepted, you have to go. So that shouldn't matter.

Sorry, my mistake - didn't read your note about ED. My D was RD.

^^ Hope she's enjoying it. Call me incredibly jealous.

Well I hope thats true. Im from MD and i've visited twice, and one was an overnight

^^ Same here, Texas with two visits, one an overnight. Hope we get in lol.

I know visits are at least considered, but I don't know if they actually add weight to a decision.

I'm from NC with only one visit. I hope it counts for something though.
