Chance of Admission and Comparison

I’m currently a Junior at a top ranked public school in NC. I have been accepted into the summer programs at USMA, USNA, and USAFA. I was just wanting to get alittle insight on how my application stacks up compared to others, and see my chances at admissions to the academies.

Academics-
-Full IB Program- If school ended today I would have 6 A’s and 2 B’s in the program, I’m taking the equivalent of 7 AP’s. My GPA is about 4.9 weighted and 3.97 unweighted, and class rank is unknown until the end of the year, but last year it was top 6%. This should increase due to the weighted classes in the IB program.
-Academic All-American athlete/ Academic bar and letter winner- all semesters of high school.

650-Math
650-Reading

-ACT- Get scores back Monday
-All A’s first two years of high school
-Have teachers that are ready to give recs.- Can a BIOLOGY teacher be used for science?

Extracurriculars-

-JV Football Freshmen Year- Went both ways

-Travel Golf Tournaments- 1 Victory
-Varsity Golf- Lettered- Junior Year

-Working towards ultimate goal of Special Forces, almost impossible but it gives me alittle extra drive to hit the gym.

This has been my dream forever and want it more than anything, any suggestions on where to improve, and anybody that wants to show what they got accepted with would be great(so I can see where I stand).

I think you’re in good shape. You have got the leadership positions, good academics, and it looks like your physically fit. Also, make sure you have fun at summer seminar because I did last year. Good Luck!!

As long as your interview goes well, I think you’ll be fine.

The word you’re looking for in describing your schedule, though, is “rigor.” A rigger is someone who maintains parachutes, among other things.

My husband is a USMA grad and works with admissions and apparently, it is more difficult to be admitted to the summer programs than to be admitted to the schools. That is good news for you.

Petko…ahahahahahahaha

You’re doing well…optimum would be getting your combined math/critical reading SAT score over 1400. You can use a bio teacher - always pick faculty who know you well and would endorse your application with enthusiasm.
