Chance of admission at Colby?

I’ve been looking into Colby College a LOT recently, and it seems like a great fit for me and I’m super excited to visit. I fall above their 75th percentile, but I was looking at a graph and a lot of people near my range had been rejected or waitlisted and I just want to make sure this is still a reasonable target school for me.

My SATs are a 2290 (730R, 770M, 790W) and my weighted GPA is a 4.18 (unweighted 3.93).

I’ve taken AP Chem (4), AP Calc BC (5), AP Bio (5), and AP English Language (5).

My schedule for senior year includes AP Stats, AP Human Geo, AP English Literature and AP Physics C (I wanted to take AP Econ but it wouldn’t fit :-< ).

As far as EC’s, I have a paid tutoring job, I’ve been a captain of our school’s SHIP Club for two years (we basically welcome the incoming freshman, show them where to go, and check in with them a few times a year), I’m going to be president of our Math Honor Society, I’m a member of World Lang. Honor Society, a member (no leadership) of a few other clubs, and I participated in a three week research program at a boarding school in Wellesley this summer. So nothing extraordinary, but they exist.

I think my recommendations will be strong, because the teachers I requested it from (english and bio) are people that I had great personal connections with and I was the top student in each of their classes.

Hopefully I have a good shot at getting in because Colby seems amazing

You look like a good candidate. If you can visit and interview to show that you would be a good addition to the community, it could help.

I think you do have a good chance! I definitely recommend going to interview

you have a very good chance. My son is a sophomore there and his stats were very similar to yours. My daughter had similar stats, was waitlisted at Colby but was accepted to Cornell . It’s a crapshoot in the end but you are certainly in the ballpark.

I would say you have a very good chance. That resume was similar to mine. Although, sometimes odd things happen. I had a friend who applied with his ACT score of 32 and he had lots of extra-curricular things, and he was wait-listed and didnt get in
