Chance of Admission into Harvard?

I'm 17 this year, and I'm applying for Regular Decision.

I did my IGCSEs in June 2012 and got 9A*s and 1A. It's a CGPA of 42.7, average of 4.3 (weighted) 4.0 (unweighted)

I play the violin, and have toured with the Asian Youth Orchestra around Asia, English Schools Orchestra in London and Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra around Brisbane.

I've done quite a lot of community work, and raised around $3000 for an Autistic Support Centre in Malaysia, and led a charity team to donate to the flood and landslide victims.

I've done an internship in an accounting firm. I was also the captain of the school debate team, and I was an academic decathlon and got Academic Colours and stuff. I joined the Math Olympiad Squad as well. I also did some athletics in high school.

I rank second in a class of approx 80?

I submitted a CD recording of my violin playing too.

I got a 730 for my Physics SAT II and 770 for Math Level 1. The Physics is a horrendous mark, but I can't retake because I'm doing a reasoning test in Jan.

I'm also getting an additional recommendation by a member of the Board of Overseers

What are my chances?

I’d say you’ve got as good a chance as anyone else. One part of your application that intrigues me is your participation in debate. My cousin attended Harvard because he was a nationally ranked debator, and that was his one big thing. So how large is debate in your high school career? Or is it just another small addition? If larger, I’d give you higher chances.

I think you have a decent shot.
