I would really like to know what my chances are of getting into Iowa. I got a 24 on my ACT, I have a 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA. My high school does not rank so I cannot do the RAI. I live in Illinois.
4 years of English
4 years of Math
4 years of Social Studies
3 years of Science
2 years of foreign language

Senior year:
AP Psychology
Discrete Finite (math)
Intro to Statistics
AP Comparative Government and Politics
I would really like to know what my chances will be for acceptance. I have applied for the 48 hour response and I got deferred. What are my chances of getting in?

Do the RAI calculation and use a conservative estimate for class rank, 50% perhaps. It is not heavily weighted in the calculation anyway.

None of your Senior year stuff (ap, etc) enters into the calculation although you might use it if you miss the RAI threshold and wish to appeal.

Be advised that OOS and engineering have slightly higher RAI reqts.

Best of luck.

Since your school does not rank, you have to do the Individual Review. That is most likely the reason you got deferred. There was an option for that on the online application. It’s for people whose schools don’t rank or who don’t meet the 245/255 RAI requirements. Instead of just calculating a number, they will actually review your application holistically.
