Hooks:
My older sister is currently attending.
I'm African-American.

Yeah probably… I go to one of the top 10 prep schools in the country and in my experience, African American students (at least in my school, which is incredibly diverse by prep school standards) are simply not on par academically with white/asian students (sorry if I sound racist, but this is simply MY experience at MY school), and personally, I don’t know ANYONE at my school that has a 4.0 GPA, and prep schools generally don’t do weighted GPA or rank either…again, this is just my experience.
But again, if I’m mistaken, which I very well might be, congratulations on being admitted to your favorite school.

The water polo is a hook you should play up. You should get in. The only reasons I can think you wouldn’t would be because of the diversity of your extracurriculars, and coming across as privleged because of the prep school and whatnot, but with your other credentials you should be in.

^ Don’t worry, as much as CC might seem like a good representation of the people that go to these schools, IT IS NOT. There are many more mere mortals than you would expect after hanging around here. We have a water polo team?
