LHG, there is a specific “Chances” forum where I’ve no doubt you’ll find plenty of folks to evaluate your chance of admission to a multitude of schools. To the best of my knowledge, no one posting here (other than Dean J) is an admissions officer - we’d simply be guessing. UVA takes a holistic approach to admissions and looks at the entire package a student presents. Grades and a rigorous curriculum are always going to be more important than SAT or ACT scores.

The other thing you should know is that students do not apply for a specific major within the e-school. They first apply to the e-school and are hopefully accepted. During the second semester, each engineering student then applies for their major. BME is very, very competitive.

There are plenty of posters here that would be glad to respond to any specific questions you have about UVA. Good luck with your applications!

OP, I am a Rodman scholar (engineering honors) rising first year (Class of 2018)- being an honors students really comes down to your unique qualities and your essay. Also, the caliber of honors engineering is quite high. Of those that I know, many got into ivy leagues and top schools like Duke and JHU. hopefully that will give you an idea that it is quite competitive to get into the honors engineering (but certainly not impossible.
