Chance of Being Accepted to CSULB English Program?

I want to start college again and obtain a BA in English after a 3 year break.

Do I have a chance to transfer to CSULB with a 3.15 GPA into the English Lit major?

In the past, I've received an AA from a CC and transferred to San Diego State University with a transfer GPA of 3.65.

While attending SDSU as a Business major, I have 1 F from Managerial Accounting and 2 Fs from Business Calculus because I stopped attending classes without officially withdrawing or dropping. Ouch. I just was not grasping Math and Accounting very well to be honest. It dragged my GPA down to 3.15 (SDSU GPA - 2.25).

I realize that I truly appreciate learning and reading about English literature so a major change is definitely needed so my question is:

Will the 3 Fs from classes that aren't within my major screw my chance of being accepted to the CSULB English program? The English program at CSULB isn't impacted btw.

Let me know your opinions, thank you! :)

Well considering English isn’t an impacted major, I think you should be fine and have a fairly good shot at getting in.

Is there anyway were you can remove those F’s from your transcripts at SDSU?.. I think if you request to change you major you can drop those F’s from your transcripts or atleast remove them out of your GPA when those classes are no long a part of your curriculum for your major.

Thanks for the input. I hope to have a good chance too.

I don’t think there’s an option to do that sadly. -_-

I can go back to CC and take transfer classes to bring up the GPA to a stable point (also get back into the college feel and work) as I’m waiting to apply to CSULB for the 2013 school year into their English program.
