Chance of being bumped from Presidential to Trustee?

I interviewed for the presidential on march 1... USC is my #1 choice but the only way I will be able to attend is if I somehow get the trustee

the interview went well I think, nothing super exemplary, but overall it was pretty good. Whats the chance that I can get bumped up?

I really want to go to USC :/

“I am a Presidential Scholar, can I upgrade my scholarship to a Trustee?
No, Trustee and Presidential Scholarships are granted by the Office of Admission specifically to freshmen. Selection criteria is based on academic excellence, leadership, and service during a student’s tenure at their high school or previous college.”

That’s from the official website. Although I’m sure even with the merit scholarship USC will be willing to give you more need-based financial aid.

I think samiam misunderstood your question–yes, there is a slight slight chance you can receive the trustee scholarship after interviewing for the presidential. I interviewed a few days ago, and I’ve read online that there are always a few kids who get bumped up. I know how you feel, because I really need the trustee as well and really want to go!

samiam does make a good point–their financial aid program is really good, and I know my student host said that they gave her wayy more than she was expecting.

My H does these interviews as the faculty member on the panel, so I can confirm that yes, the panel is allowed to make a recommendation that the interviewee receive the higher award.

I’m not the best interviewee but I guess all I can do now is just hope and wait. thanks

Me too! I want to bump my Pres to a Trustee. But that’s far-off…the Dean said something about the March 1 Prez Scholars having an average of 2270 SAT. Mine was a pitiful 2150…

My interview was so-so… :(
