What time does everyone think the admissions decisions will actually come out? Is it going to be exactly 5:00 or will they cheat ahead an hour or two to avoid some of the web traffic nightmare?

I seem to remember a kid who applied to Penn ED checking his decision around noon, but that may have been the day after they were released or something.

I would imagine they won’t be late since Harvard sent out their SCEA e-mails between 5:10 and 5:30 and I have to imagine admissions was flooded with phone calls (since I know one kid who was already calling the office at about 5:02).

for ED, they actually posted them a little bit late by like 5 minutes and the whole site went crashing from all the page loads... relax man it's 24 hours away

For ED, the web site allowed applicants to sign on exactly at 7. It took something like 2 minutes for the page to load with your decision because thousands of applicants were checking at the same time, but it happened exactly at the time given.

yea for the ED posting it took me until like 7:30 to get on and i was sitting here on the computer since like 6:30 trying to log in which is bad because i had to be at work that night at 7 but i let it go anyway. so i would assume they will be approx on time and not early.

I remember the exact time when I checked my ED decision... 7:07 pm... But maybe I was just extremely lucky not to run into the high website traffic..

lol I know, it sucks waiting... my advice? Just log around 10-15 min beforehand and start refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, while at the same time keeping open another browser to keep you entertained (like reading the news, or eonline, or something to take your mind off the decision).. Then when it finally comes, it will take you by surprise because you'll get used to the refreshing by that time. That's what happened to me, I was in utter SHOCK when I suddenly saw the word "congratulations" in my screen... :)

It only took 2 tries and like a minute after 7 for me to get my decision. And then I thought something was wrong when I saw the congraduations and I didn't know what to do about it. I remember whispering and my mom saying "what?!" from the other room because I wouldn't let her in the one I was in...

It will not come out early, and in fact, the servers will probably crash so you'll need to wait a good thirty minutes or so. Have fun putting in that PennKey. :)
