chance of extremely low score

what is my chance to buffalo
when i seem to have 84.9 average
rank top 13/150 for some reason
SAT: V:420 M:550
taking aps my senior year ap lang, ap bio
took a precalc in a community college and score 87
have a few clubs, volunteer 150hrs
thinking of majoring in electrical

is there even the slightest chance?

I'd say you wouldn't get in, sorry man.

is it good to still try and give it a shot?

I got in with a 2.65 GPA, 1650 SAT, 23 ACT. If you are from NY, it isn't that hard to get in

It won't hurt to apply. I wish you good luck. There's a slight chance you can get accepted.

dont be discouraged, you have a chance. Btw if you qualify for heop/eop your chances will most likely double.

I cant get to eop but would early action give me some chance also?

Sorry, but UB doesn't offer EA. It offers ED, and I would have recommended doing that but the deadline was Nov. 1st. What jtrain351209 said was true, it isn't that hard to get in if you're a resident of NYS, but one thing I would recommend is getting as much contact with the staff there as possible. You could call and make sure they received all parts of your application, transcript, etc., and doing as many campus tours as possible. A huge amount of interest is key. If they know you REALLY want to go there, it will give you a better shot. I would also recommend meeting a professor or going on a dept. tour. You learn a lot that way. I was accepted to UB that way (my grades helped a lot), but that was what was recommended to students in my school when applying to Ivy Leagues. Hope this helped! :)
