Hi there! I am finishing up my application to GWU, and came on here to see if I could get a question answered, and what I read freaked me out a bit. On a few of the chance me threads, I read things about GW not liking the "perfect" students, and this worries me because my scores and such are a teeny bit above their averages. So, chance me, please?

Graduating high school a year early.
SAT:
Reading: 760
Math: 670
Writing: 740

Ranked in the top 10% of my class, although I am not sure the exact number.

I am currently taking 8 AP classes, and have received 5s on the AP Biology test, AP World History, and AP Macroeconomics.

I have received A's throughout high school, other than the two B+'s I received in AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC.

I have been extensively involved in equestrian, and community service.

I'm not legacy or anything like that. I am a first generation college student, though.
So. Is this too "perfect" (although I think I am far from perfect!)? I am also applying to Princeton, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Goucher College, and Sweet Briar College, but I was only planning to list Hopkins, Goucher, and SBC on my application.

Help prevent a panic attack, please and thank you!

Uh, no. You aren’t too perfect. Are you serious?

Erm. Yes, or I wouldn’t have posted? I realize I am definitely not perfect, didn’t mean to insinuate otherwise.
I just saw someone remark about GWU wait-listing a lot of students with scores and such like mine and accepting those with slightly lower scores and it just made me worry a bit.

But, in any case, this isn’t a make-me-feel good post, and I only wanted to know if it would work against me. I haven’t interviewed, or visited campus and that makes me nervous.

And you don’t recognize how obtuse and insensitive you come off, asking this question among people who think GW is the place to be? We love GW, and don’t consider it a back up or second choice.

“I haven’t interviewed, or visited campus and that makes me nervous.”
That may be a problem, considering recent GW admissions history.

Look, I realize I’m not getting into Princeton. That’s a pretty big reach for me. Georgetown, JHU, and GWU are the schools I’m considering and I love GWU. It’s not my back-up school and I don’t quite know where you got that from. I apologize if I somehow offended you. I am not perfect, and did not mean to suggest that I am.

I am not offended. I am amused.

Alright then. Thanks for the input.

They’ll probably reject you if you put Hopkins on there.
