chance of getting in the honors program at Towson university?

I have a G.P.A of 3.50 currently, should go up. I have taken honor classes throughout high school since 10th grade and on. I have over 6 math credits, maryland only requires four plus they would like you to take more than 4 math credits. I am currently taking A.P. Calculus, A.P. Biology, A.P. English/lit and because of the space problem in my schedule, i have to take A.P. Psychology on the side but i will be taking the test. I have pretty low sat scores, 1300 out of 2400 and i am taking it again. I am in the top 10% of my class. The extraciricular's that i participate in are the science fair club in which hopefully we can win locally. I am in the National Honor Society and we do at least 5 hours of community service each month, so i it should to my 150 hours already. I also have volunteered at the school and public library, recieved community service hours for those. I have participated in the chemathon, a chemistry competition at University of Maryland in which me and 6 others represented our high school in which it was the school's first time participating. I am the Vice President of the Interact/Rotary club, and will also recieve community service hours. I should have more than 400-500 hours of community sercice by the end of my senior year. I am volunteering at the Washington Hospital Center in the department of Radiology and that will also give me hundreds of hours. I also attended the student leadership training for students who are in office in any of the clubs. It will give every leader some sort of training to help them be a better leader. I am anticipating that i will have a great essay, i am working on it with my A.P lit/english teacher. I am applying early admission, which i heard will be better for me to get in the fall admission. I am a African American, coming from a family with average income that's not really high. Please give me your honest opinion on if i have a good chance of getting in. Also i am in state, which i heard also helps.

Sorry,I would be surprised if you got into their honors program. First, Towson uses UNWEIGHTED GPA for entrance into the Honors program, as dumb as that seems. My daughter had an unweighted GPA of 3.45 but a weighted GPA, due to taking all honors and AP courses, of 4.0. She had 1210 in the SAT ( math and verbal). She didn't get into their honors program.

My son took no honors courses but had an unweighted GPA of 3.65 with a similar SAT. He got into the honors program. How stupid is that?

What I am saying about my son occurred 5 years ago. Towson is geting tougher in admission;thus, I would suspect that it is a bit harder to get into their honors program today.

I would estimate that you would need around a 3.6 unweighted GPA and 1280 on the SAT (math and CR). If you do substantially better on either the GPA or SAT , you might be able to have lower stats on the other factor.
