Someone Please Reply. Mcgill is my first choice and i would like to know how I stand.

Depends on the Faculty;
[Admissions Standards - U.S. High School | Applying to Undergraduate Studies - McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/standards/unitedstates/)

UW GPA and SAT/ACT only. EC’s, refs etc. do not count.

The 91 is my unweighted gpa. my school doesn’t do a 4.0 scale. I know they don’t count EC’s
I applied to the Arts Faculty.

SAT IS : CR: 690 M: 660 W:620 - 1350/1600 1970/2400

My Sat II. Scores are.

@tomofboston what do you think?

High match since writing is a little low. McGill can reject a student on a single SAT subscore. There lies your only problem.

What do you mean high match? I know they can, but is it possible they overlook it?

Your file contained a 620 writing score, correct? I know the university’s website says, under Arts, that “each SAT I and II 650 or ACT 28” but I think that these stats really are what would make Arts a safety, since there really are people who got in with a little less on the SAT (maybe with 3.8-4.0 GPA, too).

However, there are times where they can overlook a somewhat lower subscore. It’s not guaranteed that they will overlook your somewhat low writing score and high match is a rating which indicates the likelihood of actually getting in, or that this year’s safety line is lower than 650/650/650 @ 3.4.

You have a shot, though. I acknowledge there is no slot for ECs on a McGill app so the only time any mention of ECs will show up in McGill’s admissions office is if you’re waitlisted or appealing an admissions decision and write a letter restating your interest in McGill and you mention extracurriculars in that letter. But you just can’t pin all your hopes on McGill.

Thanks a lot Catria. appreciate the advice.
