SAT: have not taken yet but I am between 1900 and 2000
ACT: None

I have taken AP world history ( 5 ) and AP human geography (4) and am currently taking AP Chem, AP United states history and AP LANGUAGE

I am anticipating to take AP government, biology, and AP literature next year
I am planning to take chemistry and math 2 sat 2 soon and maybe literature

( could I possibly receive some recommended scores for the sat2?)

My GPA is pretty much set

I am going to be in an outside research lab this summer

I have participated in 2 different science fairs for multiple years

243 volunteer hours in hospital

Numerous clubs and music activities ( have been doing music for 4 years only including high school ( I have done it before 9th grade as well)

Involved in one math and science club

I would love any advice and would even like some recommendations for schools

btw if you need any more info about EC’s i would be happy to provide it, sorry for asking since I am a junior, but I want to prepare for this as soon as possible if I have a chance of getting in. Thanks!

I’d say that your EC’s are pretty cookie cut for the Ivies. I would expect Princeton to be a reach. I’m not sure if the specific program is different as opposed to regular admissions, but if it isn’t, you should most likely get into those other 3. This is assuming your test scores are good.

Brooklyn- not familiar with
Drexyl- not familiar with
Princeton- reach
Albany- match

Your extensive volunteering at the hospital plus research should help your app, but you could also use these as essay topics (if applicable). Elaborate on why you did these activities and how you grow as a person, etc.

Alright thanks, but I just had one question, if anyone could tell me if I am possible to get into the bs/md programs with my gpa (I plan to get a higher sat score). I know especially for drexyl, albany, and brooklyn, getting into the premed wont be as hard as the programs, but I still am not sure HOW much harder it is

Oh I also tried calculating my gpa from online and they said anything from a 94 to a 95
unweighted was like a 3.9? could somebody reaffirm that? my weighted is somewhere in the 98’s but I don’t think the more competitive schools will look at that, but rather look at my unweighted and look at how hard my classes are

(I have taken ever advanced and ap course my school offers so far except for the ones I mentioned I am taking next year and I did not take ap euro history, I am also not planning to take AP Psych or any AP Art/Tech/Economics)

Also, In addition to the AP’s I listed, I forgot to mention I am taking AP Calculus as well next year

Also can anyone tell me if I calculated my GPA correctly? I have only had one B (an 87) and that was back in 9th grade. I have tried looking around and some sites say it is 3.9, almost 4.0, and others say it is 4.0.

If you don’t know anything about the BS/MD or BA/MD programs, could you do some research and see if i have a chance? or tell me if it is reasonable to apply to such competitive programs?

What I would focus on now is raising your SAT scores or trying the ACT. See which one you score better on. Try to get above 2000 or above a 30. All your other stats make you a fair candidate. Best of luck!

I think you should take AP Psychology. It really helps and it’s tons of fun. As for your scores, you should get as high as you can. Aim for a 2400. I believe in you.

And definitely take the arts. You want to enjoy high school for what it actually is (even get yourself a nice bf/gf while youre at it). Don’t go sucking up to teachers just to get good grades. I know way too many people who do that. Actually put in the effort to get high grades along with challenging courses. Don’t just go for the easy classes. Good Luck. You can do it. <3
