<p>Hi! I am a Hispanic female currently enrolled in my Junior year of high school. Until recently I didn't have any college goals set into place. That is until I came to recognize what a good institution GA Tech is. From then on I have wanted to go there and college applications will have to be started in a few months so I want to know if I have a shot at making it. (I am applying early admission)</p>
<p>First off, I moved here from Colombia when I was in 4th grade and had to learn English under those circumstances. This is one of the reasons why when I was tested for the gifted program I didn't qualify. Obviously now that isn't an issue and in high school I have done fairly well. My GPA will be a 4.0 weighted by the end of this year. I have taken fairly challenging classes and my schedule has been:</p>

<p>Sophomore year:
Honors Chemistry (C) (Class is extremely difficult. It is taught by the AP Chem teacher therefore she expected us to know just as much as her AP Chem kids)
10th World Lit (B) (Teacher was a real *****. I still rant about this.)
French 3 (B) (She went crazy)
Salon Services II (A)
AP World History (A) (4 on exam)
Math II (B)
Marketing Principles (A)</p>

<p>My test scores are less than impressive but I look to improve them.
My latest SAT score was a 1830 (660 CR ; 490 M ; 680 W)
My ACT score - 24</p>
<p>I know my math score is unbelievably low. Believe me I'm frustrated but Im hoping the 3rd times the charm with the SAT and I'm taking the ACT again this june. </p>
<p>I have a bunch of extra curriculars and play lacrosse and volunteer so that aspect doesn't really worry me. </p>
<p>PLEASE tell me what you think and what I should be doing to stand out. I really need to get into a good college like GA Tech or somewhere equally as good. </p>
