Chance of getting into McGill (American student)

coffeecup2945 If you don’t apply, you won’t get in for sure. Why not try?

BBbunny what were your statistics??

hi im new here…can anyone tell me if i cud get in Mcgill’s software engineering with my olevels and ielts score? im an international student by the way.

@abirakand‌ I’m afraid not. You have to complete the A-levels or an equivalent level of schooling (10+2 or 11+1) to be eligible to apply to McGill.

Just curious guys but an applicant submits ACT and subject test scores does Mcgill consider deeply both? Or just ACT

@purified‌ You may submit either the ACT or the SAT. In addition, some faculties require you to take the SAT Subject Tests in 2-3 subjects (look up McGill Entrance Requirements for your faculty).

If you are submitting ACTs, then you don’t need to send in SATIIs. Your grades are the first cut, and senior year really matters.

@Leyland‌ That is not true. As you can see in this admission requirements page (http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/admissionsguide/standards/unitedstates</a>), most faculties require SAT/ACT and the Subject Tests.

@upapilot‌ Not sure what you are referring to. It clearly says: U.S. high school applicants must provide strong standardized test scores in addition to their high school record. Either the SAT I plus two appropriate SAT II subject tests or the ACT can be provided.

Also McGill rep was at our HS last week and confirmed the requirements.

@Leyland‌ yes but many faculties list sat subject tests as compulsory prerequisites.
