I'm a us citizen born and raised here but because of my dad's canadian citizenship we're in the process of getting my canadian citizenship.

i have a 3.734 unweighted GPA
i got an 1890 on the SAT (R640, W660, M590)
i got a 690 on the SAT II for Literature and a 500 on the SAT II for French
I got a 4 (out of 5) on the AP Literature and Composition test

I know my french score is heinous but i'm bad at standardized testing for math and really didn't want to send the score i got on Math I even though it was better than my french one

I took AP Lit last year (got an A) and I'm in AP Calculus AB and AP Macroeconomics this year. I have an A- in AP Calc and an A+ in AP Macro. I've always taken hard classes, usually getting As but I've had 3 or 4 B+s in my high school career

I have 25 community service hours and 60 career exploration hours (internships) that are listed on my transcript

I'm applying to the faculty of arts, I'm not sure what i want to study yet but it has economics and political science which are both things i could consider which is why i chose it

Am i completely crazy for thinking there is a chance I may get in? Its my number one school

Anything that could help me? I'm a senior in high school and have already applied...

I’d say you have a chance but it may be a reach due to your SAT scores.

According to the website, you NEED to submit two different SAT II’s, so you have to send in that SAT French score, which may hinder your chances unless you take another one.

I’d say your SAT scores are a bit low to compete with many of the other applicants, and since you’ve only taken 3 AP courses it doesn’t really reflect “hard classes”.

You should at least try to get over 2000 on the SAT and follow Catria’s advice too.

when i started the application, I haven’t received my SAT scores yet, so I didn’t put my scores down. Do i need to update it on the application(minerva)? and if i do, how? I am seriously stumped by McGill and btw, I just sent in my SAT score reports to mcgill. does this mean I still have to change it? or do i just leave it?
someone help me plzzzzzz
thanksss

If you’ve requested College Board to send your SAT scores to McGill then that is all you need to do. Just keep checking Minerva to confirm they’ve been received.

thanks ENsMom, i have a quick question. I have only taken one ap exam that i can report, should i send the score to mcgill still? i mentioned it on my application, but does it even make a difference?

iditroafa, it is my understanding that AP test scores are not one of the criteria that McGill considers for admission, they are considered only in determining your class level (U0, U1, etc.) upon admission. Of course, I would certainly recommend including any AP test results on your application that you believe boost your academic profile - it doesn’t hurt and you never know for sure what might tip the scales in your favor! However, there is no requirement to submit the actual score report until you accept your offer of admission
