Chance of getting into NYU (CAS)

<p>I'm a junior attending a Blue Ribbon High School in Southern California (top 10 public school in state), and I am applying to NYU (College of Art and Science) for the fall semester of 2012. I'm considering majoring in areas such as philosophy, pre-law, liberal arts, political science, etc. Please give me honest feedback/suggestions, thanks!
Also, I'm a minority (Korean) if that affects my chances in any way.</p>

<p>Weighted GPA: 3.94 (will rise above 4.0 this year)
Unweighted GPA: 3.54</p>

<p>SAT: 1340/1960 (re-taking to get 2000+)</p>

<p>Critical Reading: 640
Math: 700
Writing: 620</p>

<p>APs
US History: probably 4 or 5 (Taking in May)
English Language: probably 4 or 5
AP Environmental Science: probably 4</p>

<p>your in dude, just enjoy high school you only get to experience it once and try not to worry about acceptances and college till your in my position (waiting anxiously by the mail box). Do your best to get the best grades and scores you can and let NYU worry about whether or not it was good enough.</p>

<p>Get the SAT up about 100 points and GPA up a little more. No guarantee with your current stats but you’re close. Competition is really fierce.</p>

<p>For the majors you’re talking about you definitely need to up your Critical Reading score.</p>
