I am a rising senior as of now and I currently rank as top 25%, my rank being 201 out of 876 students (but is subject to change because my junior year has not been taken into account but I do expect it to go up). I have made one C in my high school career so far and did not take many difficult courses my first two years, only 2 honors classes. However, I did take AP classes my junior year and majority were honor classes. I took the SAT and got only a 1250 and will be retaking it again to aim for a better score. I also haven’t been active in high school and only started doing community service since junior year started and plan to continue doing it into senior year. I haven’t been the greatest student and I was wondering is there a good chance that I may get into University of Texas at Austin? Thanks!
Right now, you stand a 25% chance of getting admitted with your current stats. With UT, getting in is only half the battle. They’re very selective with their employable majors. If you’re out of state, it’s even more competitive. I would apply to other schools like Texas A&M, U of H, etc.
