Chance of NU for Journalism/English (ED)

Hey everyone, just wanted some feedback for chances for ED.

Volunteer/Work

4 years - job at local YMCA as lifeguard - 40 hours a week during the summer

NU is my top choice, and I'm just looking for some feedback on my chances for ED or if it would be better to RD.

ED actually increases your chances of acceptance. The pool is smaller, and the acceptance rate from it is higher than the RD pool. So, if you’re dead set on NU, then I definitely would recommend ED.

You seem to be a pretty solid candidate. Good SATs, and your grades look pretty good. The volunteer hours really add up, and your dedication to band is very clear. A bang-up pair of essays would make you a very attractive student for them - NU loves to see EC’s. I’d say go for ED!

Thanks for the input! Is there a difference in acceptance rates between Medill and the College of Arts and Sciences, I’ve heard various thing but nothing definitive.
