Hey so I am currently attending my second choice college and I am not content with being there. Occidental was my first choice, but unfortunately I was weight-listed and did not get in. In high school my gpa was not great. I believe i graduated with a 3.3 with full International baccalaureate and a good amount of community service. My ACT composite was from a 27-29 most likely on the 27 side.

My first semester at college I have gotten a 3.67 while on the mens varsity soccer team taking CALC **, Lit. Studies [A], First Years Studies(Required for all freshman) [A-], And Computer science 1 [A], And will only improve next semester. What are my chances at transferring to Occidental College.

-thanks

Hey can anyone chance me please? Also with Whitman, University of Washington, Carnegie Mellon, Cal Poly and Georgia Tech?

More information is needed. You mentioned a good amount of community service in high school. What kind of community service? Any sort of accomplishments or extra curricular activities is almost always a must for admittance to any private institution. OK, the varsity soccer team is good but that just replaces the community service u mentioned in high which wasn’t enough then. Ask yourself. If Occidental did not accept you out of high school where the admission rate is undoubtedly higher than their transfer rate and you have not improved your ECs what do you think your chance is?

jaycee215, I believe my failure of admittance was mostly due to my low GPA. My ECs in high school i believe were adequate,

College:
Since being full time student/Athlete, I was not able to join clubs or find employment. I am currently seeking this semester in the off season to become a radio DJ for my colleges radio station, join the investment club and possibly find employment.

Those sound like extraordinary ECs for high school. I would think with those ECs and a GPA of 3.3 you would have been accepted to Occidental the first time. Since this is in hindsight now i can only wish you luck on your transfer admittance. Make sure you get good recommendations and write A+ essays this time around

jaycee, thank you! Thats my plan! Good luck to you as well
