I am currently at UTSA and have already applied to transfer for the Fall 2016 semester under a BA Econ Major, so the college of liberal arts. When I applied I only had 15 hours and a 3.53 gpa so I didnt get a definite answer if I was accepted or not, I would have to turn in my final transcript by July 1 showing I had completed 30 credit hours. This semester I will have completed the 30 necessary hours but my GPA is likely to be 3.43. Are my chances of getting accepted still good or will I likely not get it because of the drop in GPA.
Are you a CAP student? If you’re just a a regular transfer your chances honestly weren’t great with a 3.53, and you certainly aren’t doing yourself any favors by lowering it. The average GPA for COLA transfers is just north of 3.6 I believe. You may have to spend another semester or two busting your behind to raise your GPA by as much as possible.
