O darn no work experience, not including sporatic babysitting.

Thanks guys! Sorry it was sooo long

P.S. my dad’s also really pushing for me to apply to dartmouth and yale. while i like both schools a lot we don’t have any legacy there and i’m afraid it would be a waste of $100+. would it be stupid to apply there as well?

apparently the legacy admit rate is double the normal admit rate

****, your legacy is amazing
why not apply ED?
do you really like Brown or are you applying bc of the legacy?
go where you wanna go.

haha no actually the legacy was the reason i was a little bit abrasive towards just the idea of brown to begin with ("there's no way i'm following the Stephenson Path of Education, thank you very much") but then i visited last summer and really liked it. (i'm going up to see it in session in october)

it's just my class rank is awfulllllll. i mean i guess the AP scores and stuff helps but top 12% or whatever really isn't that impressive lol.

If you discover when you come visit that you really like Brown, you should apply early.

When admissions officers are asked whether legacies get a big boost, they're answer is often 'not really, unless it's really a special circumstance'. There are three main possibilities for such a special circumstance. First, you could have a relative that has given a lot of money. Second, you could have a relative that has done the school proud by becoming wildly famous. Third, you could be you. The extent of your legacy is very special.
