@Flournoy_Parent: Congratulations to your daughter for the UCSB acceptance. It just goes show other applicants that stats are not everything and I am happy that UCSB as able to look beyond them. I am sure she will do well where ever she lands and I am glad she was recognized for her hard work even with the limited opportunities she was offered. This is why chancing anyone for any school is so difficult. Stats alone do not show the whole picture.

Do note that there are direct flights from Sacramento to Santa Barbara for as cheap as $200 RT. The Santa Barbara airport is literally 5 minutes from campus.

UCSB it is. Visited yesterday and took an ‘Admitted Students’ tour today. Didn’t take long on the eight hour drive home tonight for her to say she’d decided.
Congrats once again! That’s so awe-inspiring that she went big and got it! We’ll all have to keep your daughter in mind though whenever we do Chance Me evaluations in the future…
