im unsure of whether or not i want to apply to engineering or lit arts and sciences so I'd appreciate any advice there as well... i suppose im leaning towards engineering somewhat due to the fact that I'm female and i have a feeling it could increase my chances of being admitted. however, i know that that is a silly and rather disgusting thing to do.. i am seriously interested in engineering only i think my preference might be toward theoretical physics stuff and i love literature

You should be fine, assuming you stop procrastinating and get that app in ASAP (like NOWWWW!!)

as for engineering, I can help you narrow it down.

Do you see yourself:

-enjoying math, at advanced levels (like AP Calc AB/BC). Because you'll be taking several semesters of stuff HARDER than that.

-enjoy implementing math into non-math problems? Because that's what engineering is
-are you going to be able to handle getting D's on midterms and finals, knowing that with the curve it will probably be a B- or higher?
-do you enjoy physics and chemistry? Because at most colleges, an entire series of chem is required, even if you're in civil or mechanical engineering. Again, think strenuous curves.
-Are you fine cramming for exams while friends in English lit only have to turn in a paper for a final exam?
-Are you willing to get tutored if you need it?

Ask yourselves these questions. If it still appeals to you, great! Engineering is an excellent and necessary major, and being female will propel you to the top of your career field, assuming you did what you had to grades/internship-wise.

If it isn't appealing though, you might want to think twice. Be wise, and you'll be fine.

Good luck!
