Are there some colleges on my list that are just plain unrealistic? And based on this list are there any other colleges you guys think I might like?
Suggestions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

pretty good chances for all except for Cornell (which might be a stretch)

rtf?

Thanks! bump…

Your gpa is superb and your ACT score is pretty solid too. Don’t worry about your SAT since your ACT makes up for it. Maybe plan on brining your subject test scores up just a lil bit if your colleges require them otherwise don’t sweat it. You have a bunch of AP classes and solid EC’s which is awesome as well.

Here’s what I think:

Cornell University: Reach (for anyone really)
-Georgia Tech: Match
-University of Miami: Safety
-University of Southern California: Match (you could apply for a ton of scholarships here - they offer A LOt)
-University of Texas - Safety/Match
-University of Washington: Safety.
-Vanderbilt University: DEfinite Match.

Good luck with the whole application process!!! You’ll be fine :]

Chance back? Appreciate it :] http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1196513-chances-will-chance-back-promise.html

Cornell University: Reach, but good chance
Georgia Tech: Match
University of Miami: Safety
University of Southern California: Match
University of Texas: Safety
University of Washington: Safety
Vanderbilt University: Match.

Hope this helps :)

IF you send only send your SAT 2 scores, it will set off red flags. Send them your SAT I scores as well.

Chanced you all back, thanks guys!

Halukcan, why would it send up red flags? I really do not want to send that SAT score…

Bump…

I would suggest taking the SAT again in oct or nov, try for a 2150+. You can definitely do it with some hard work. There are some great guides on cc, and I would suggest getting the barron’s blue book. The practice really helps, and I was able to raise my scores by ~200 points in 2 months.

Finally, I think all of the schools you’ve listed are either match or safety (except cornell of course). So I think you could add another reach school to your list for good measure. You never know what might happen!

Cornell University: Realistic reach!
-Georgia Tech: Match
-University of Miami: Safety
-University of Southern California: Match
-University of Texas: Safety
-University of Washington: Safety
-Vanderbilt University: Match

You’re a great candidate, but try once more for your SAT. With some practice, I think you would surprise yourself. I’m glad to see band as a clear interest of yours.
