Chance please? (freshman)

Hey, I was wondering if you guys could sort of help push me toward the right track for college. My main interest is Neuroscience and I really want to get into scientific research rather than medical. I'm an Asian female in a very competitive magnet school in VA.

[Next year I might drop Debate and join Chemistry Team and Bioengineering Projects for the Future. Also planning to get some type of neuroscience-related internship, might get one at Alzheimer’s Family Day Center, and will be applying for a research internship at George Mason next year.]

Volunteer: I’m part of this ensemble which performs at assisted living centers every month since 6th grade.

I'm looking more at places like UVA, UCLA, Reed, Emory, Williams, Amherst, and Columbia. I want to make my interest in neuroscience stand out more, but I'm not so sure how besides trying to get an internship, Brain bee, and taking related courses.

Yes, yes I know that "freshmen shouldn't be here worrying about college so early" but I know quite a few people who are doing much more than me and it makes me worried about whether I'm doing things right or not.

Let me guess, TJ

Calm down. Seriously, you need to stop freaking out. You’re fourteen, all you need to worry about is earning good grades. If you keep this up, you’re going to end up being one of those zombies who eats, sleeps, and breathes homework. And that’s not attractive. Trust me. Focus on having a balance between studying and a social life.

@tommy22: Yup, you’ve guessed correctly.

@dessie411: Yeah, I know, but I just want to know if this plan seems good enough or if I should make any changed.

try doing clubs like future medical professionals and stuff like that. Do summer enrichment programs w/ a focus on neuro

bump 10charr

Yeah, you’re fine.
