CR SAT score is a little low… but hopefully your volunteer work and ECs will compensate (colleges look a lot for leadership skills).

There are a lot of UMD OOS students from NY…you’re CR score may keep you out of the running, as UMD admits are mostly numbers driven. If you applied before the priority date, it’s possible. If you missed the Nov 1 deadline, your chances are much lower. You never know, though, so good luck.

I think you’ve got a pretty good chance, good luck! :)

Thank you!

I think you have a great chance too! I hope we both get in :)

You definitely have a good chance of getting in. The only potential quandary on your application appears to be your SAT CR score. Aside from that, everything else looks excellent.

Thank you! I’m hoping they’ll use my ACT to make up for that low critical reading score. However, it is on the lower 25% for student profiles at maryland

Fieldhockey you have a good chance, I’ve been to physical therapy a lot for my back/shoulder and the aide job is a great job. What are you going to do if you get in?

Thank you!
If I get in, I’m definitely going! I hope Maryland sees my two jobs in sports medicine/physical therapy (part of my major) as a huge positive. I can’t wait!

Maybe they’ll overlook your CR score in light of your wide variety of achievements. But, I’m no admissions counselor haha

I defintely want to go too. If I get into a living and learning program for public leadership, that would instantly seal the deal. Maryland is so awesome! Plus there Gov. and Politics program is ranked ahead of schools like Georgetown and UVA. I can’t wait to visit again this spring for admitted days if I get in. Hopefully we’ll both be there this fall.

If we all get in, one of us has to throw an obligatory party haha I’m pretty excited about hearing back from UMD, despite the fact that it’s not my top choice.

Yes! I have a good feeling about this now. I think we’ll both be there herewegocolleges. @quasiclever, I will happily volunteer to throw that party. you guys will just have to come to new york haha

I meant when the fall semester started, one of us had to throw a party haha

We can do that, and once we get our decisions too :D
