Chance please? RD

<p>I am currently going into my senior year and I am looking at several schools. They seem to be way out of reach for me, but I was hoping what I can do to try and get myself a more competitive candidate for them.</p>

<p>I am looking at:
Williams
Amherst
Bowdoin
Colby
Colgate
Any other suggestions?</p>

<p>*I am looking to major in Biochemistry</p>

<p>These are my main reach schools, I will be cutting it down to probably about 4 of these. But I was wondering my chances</p>

<p>I have been taking the most rigorous courses provided at my school</p>

<p>Your test scores should be stronger (above 2000 or 30 at least) for Amherst and Williams to be a strong candidate</p>

<p>I agree with tutugirl. SAT scores are by no means the only factor in college admissions, but your scores are well under the average for all of the schools that you listed. You can always take them again though.</p>

<p>It’s hard to tell because every school seems to have a different GPA system, but maybe your grades will offset your scores somewhat (assuming you compare favorably to the average student at your school GPA-wise)</p>

<p>Firstly, nice work with the GPA. GPA is the single most important factor in admission. That being said, I hate to tell you Thinker and Tutu are being pretty generous in saying 2000 is the minimum SAT. More realistically, if you don’t have legacy or pull in admissions, 22-2300 is more along the lines of Amherst and Williams bare minimum SAT numbers, and 2100 is the bare minimum for the others you mentioned. If you up your SAT score, your chances are very good to get in to at least one</p>
