Then I switched schools and there were alot of complications. My old school had about 20 AP's, i was going to take around 11 over junior and senior year(there were no sophomore AP's), but my new school only has 6 AP's total. and only 1 is offered to juniors. Also they don't have honors world language courses at my new school and now I have to take theology as well.

Junior Year
AP Biology-(A, still awaiting test results, I am fairly confident I got a 4/5)
French 3(A-I was forced to retake this because the new school doesnt have french 5 or AP french, and I wanted to take french every year in high school)

First I was a session floor intern until summer recess, now I am working with the House Business Office rotating through the departments learning and doing research projects(i just did a 6 page paper on how information systems can improve their websites for public access).

Academic All-Conference Awards for all of the above sports
Cross Country Best Sportsmanship/Attitude Award

Recs- teacher recs should all be very good. Might get one from the CFO of the house business office as well. Only one I'm kind of worried about being a bit generic would be the counselor rec(I have only had her for one year and I don't see her much)

Personal Info-
White
Income Bracket $250,000+
Live in East Lansing, Michigan.
For 9th-10th grades went to a large public high school in CT(sends kids to top schools), then moved and now go to a small catholic high school(very rarely sends kids to top schools, besides usually one or two notre dames a year).
I either want to pursue a business or science(pre-med) major.

Schools(this is a pretty final list, but still open to some change):
University of Wisconsin-Madison(both parents went there, this should be a safety)
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor(In-state, school usually sends 5-10 kids there out of a little over 100 every year, although usually 10-20 get accepted)
Emory University
Washington University in St. Louis
Boston College
Duke University

Thank you so much for reading and I'll chance back if you leave a link!

I think you have a pretty solid and well-rounded profile, and can set your sights a little higher in terms of reach schools. Remember to have a balance of reach, safety, and target.

Thanks! I know I might have a chance at the Ivies but I’m not really interest in the Ivy lifestyle i guess. Brown would suit me the best I think, but i dont think it’s worth me applying ED, so idk. Also, this is something my counselor gripes about so idk if I should believe him or not, but he says that we shouldn’t really aim for reach schools unless we are absolutely in love(im not in LOVE with any ivy) because even if we get accepted we will be at the low end of the class and he thinks we should aim for safer schools and try to be the high end of the class. It’s kind of stupid but it kinda makes sense I guess.

You have a solid chance at those schools, BC, UM, and UW should be admits, the others are obviously tough to get into but you should fare well. If you think you are well suited for Brown, go foe it! Based off the income, it doesn’t seem like money is a huge problem, but if something happens money wise you can still get out of ED if they don’t give you enough aid. If you like brown, definately apply and shoot for the stars

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1177043-do-i-have-enough-good-ecs-ill-chance-back.html

Yeah the money thing is kind of making my decision harder. Basically its between Michigan and a private school(UW is only for the chance I get rejected at Michigan). I wont get aid anywhere and while my dad has the ability to pay for any school, he doesn’t prefer to, he wants me to go to Michigan because its the cheapest by far and it’s still a really good school. Basically he won’t pay for my graduate(which is fine), so if I go to Michigan some of my undergrad savings will be leftover so I won’t have to pay for all of grad school, but if I go to a private school I will have to pay for grad school. Another option is Indiana-Bloomington, because I can get a lot of money for going there and then I might not have to pay for any grad school.
