College acceptance just seems as thought its all so arbitrary so i dont know what my chances will be of acceptance but i want to go to colgate so much. I applied EDI which i know should help my chances but with 11 days till decisions go out id love some outside perspective.

Firstly, I know how much you anticipate hearing a response from your first choice LAC, Colgate. I was in the same position many years ago too.

Yes, and as you said, the process is arbitrary since this is an administrative task with deadlines. But if you are confident that your application meets high standards- with a thoughtful essay, appealing reasons as to why you are keen to attend/why it’s a fit, and you have asked teachers with whom you have a common understanding to write your references- well, the best advice I have to offer is to step back for the next several days. If you want to ponder your other options such as how you would rebalance your approach in the event you are deferred or rejected, that would be a productive use of your time. Maybe you will want to reach out to one or more colleges to refine your application.

Best of luck with the application process! You come across as an excellent candidate for any college.

It is a little arbitrary. They take the people they want to take, and it is not mathematical only. Apply, hope for the best, and choose among the schools that choose you. It’s like life. No, it is life. That’s all you can do. Good luck, and hope you get in!
