Gpa: 3.88, on the rise, should be 3.95 by the semester Rank: top 5% Elite top 100 public school known for scholars State: MN Gender: Male Race: white Act: 35C, 34E, 36M, 36R, 34S AP: Euro 4, stats 4, us history not taken, am lit not taken Recs: none yet, but I'm in tight with my counselor and several teachers so fingers crossed Ecs: 4 years football (2 letters) 4 years basketball (2 letters) Community service letter (2) 4 years of being a church leader for middle schoolers Several mission trips

I think I'm a strong candidate but does anyone have any suggestions for my future?

Your stats look pretty solid, but nothing is ever certain. DD’s app looked very similar to yours last year … 34 composite ACT, top 3% at a top MN public HS, several AP’s, 4 varsity letters (2 yrs captain), good recs, etc. She was accepted EA at Notre Dame, deferred EA at Boston College (accepted RD).

I actually umpired little league these past two summers and am debating a third. The only issue is football and basketball take up a ton of time so I need a really flexible job that doesn’t involve mornings and coaching for sure does.

Your stats are sufficient, your activities are good and match with what Notre Dame generally looks for, and you’re an overall solid candidate. Of course, ND gets so many solid applicants that it comes down to the intangibles to set them apart (last year they turned down 70% of valedictorian apps and over 50% of 2400 SAT apps).

If your essays grab their attention in a good way, I’d say you’re in. So focus on your essays, make sure you write them well, and hope they rub the committee the right way. You’ve got a decent shot, about as good as any unhooked applicant.
