85% or better chance.

Wow thank you! Anything I could improve in the coming months?

Work really hard on your essays as ND actually reads them and uses them in the evaluation of your application. Start them over the summer, have someone give you feedback, and rewrite them until they are the best they can be. You have fabulous test scores, lots of athletics and volunteer work. Is your GPA a weighted average? Some schools weight the averge, others do not, and you did not specify. What is your intended major?

Thank you! And it is unweighted, and I want to major in finance

Would EA be a smart call for me?

With a 35 - yes. Get some additional leadership in if possible - e.g. if doing the ump thing this spring, be one of the trainers for the rookies, etc.

You didn’t say what your GPA is, but if it is close to a 4.0, I would consider EA. My child had the same ACT score, a 4.25 GPA (on a 4.0 scale,) and similar athletic and other EC activities. Child had multiple service awards and lots of volunteer hours. I would suggest contacting the admissions rep for your area and ask. My child did so, and based on how the stats stacked up against the prior year’s applications (obviously no one can say what your fellow applicants will look like yet,) was advised to apply EA. Child was accepted EA, and is happy to be Irish! Your best ally through the whole process is your area rep. They are very supportive and can give you much better information than you will get from CC or other sites. There is a wealth of info here, but a good relationship with your rep will be to your advantage. Worst case, just based on the info you have provided here, you might be deferred to regular decision. Good luck!

It is out of 4 unweighted. And ok thank you!! I’ll wait a month or two before I ask the EA question but what exactly would I say to them in order to ask if EA is smart. Could someone send or post a format for an appropriate email for this situation?

Something short, sweet, and to the point:
“I will be applying to Notre Dame for Fall 2013, and I am trying to decide whether or not to apply for Early Action. I scored a 35 on my ACT, my current GPA is 4.1 on a 4.0 base, and I have extensive athletic, band, and volunteer extracurricular activities with leadership positions in many of these. I have taken a rigorous course load, but my school does not rank (or does rank and give estimated rank, if you know it.)
Would you advise me to apply for Early Action? Thank you for any advice you can offer.”

If you have met the rep at a college fair or during a visit to ND, reference that. E-mail works great and makes it easy for the rep to make a reply. Suggestion: create a college application e-mail address that is straight-foward and professional, like “<a href="mailto:johnsmith@provider.com”>johnsmith@provider.com“. You really don’t want to have a rep wondering about “<a href="mailto:meanfootballdude@provider.com”>meanfootballdude@provider.com”. Not a good image! Unless you can throw a football 60 yards with dead-on accuracy, and then ND REALLY wants to hear from you!

With your 35 on the ACT and corresponding GPA and good EC’s, I would plan to apply EA. Having the early contact with the rep will start developing a relationship for later in the process.
By the way, personalize your message. A lot of people read CC posts, and it will look funny if 16,000 applicants send the same fill-in-the-blanks message to the reps!!

Thank you very much!!

I’m sorry. My senior course load is wrong. It is:
