Had an alumni interview that went pretty well, i showed the interviewer that i REALLY wanted to go to Cornell.
I think both my essays and reccs. are great, reccs. probably talked about how i am a good leader and how i help others around me to succeed

You’ll find out in 1 day, 17 hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds.

Ignoring the SATs, could you provide context for your GPA? Although many may think it looks low-ish, remember senior and junior year grades matter a lot.

I don’t think your SAT’s are too good, but… in my opinion, they don’t matter as much as GPA or even ECs.

hahah, on a side note, I love Cornell’s alumni interviews. They try to trick you by calling them “information sessions” and emphasizing that they are not interviews. Who ever heard of a one on one information sessions anyway? First question: do you have anything to tell me that’s not already on your application? hahahahah.

It seemed too much like an interview though. I guess I shouldn’t have assumed.

Yeah, as for the OP, his stats are low-ish, but… We need context to know. If say, he didn’t do well his freshman year, but ended up pushing it through junior and senior year with straight A’s, his chances may not be as bad as they seem.

It’s mostly because he doesn’t have a hook, and on top of that, an antihook. That really works badly with the bare credentials that he already has. His major choice might help him a little bit, though.
