Chance please

<p>I am interested in engineering ( Mech or chemical)...I know I am at the lower end gpa and sat wise..still...</p>

<p>GPA: 3.64 ( took all possible honors and AP classes )
SAT: 2050 ( from two attempts Reading 630 math 700, writing 720)
SAT sub tests: Chem 750, Math II 730,US hsitory 670
APs Chem 3, AB calculus 5, US history 4, world history 3
taking 5 more APs this year.</p>

<p>ACT 32 ( english 28,math 32,reading33, science 34 in one attempt)
Taking both ACT and SAT one last time in December ..hoping to do better.</p>

<p>Decent ECs , leadership, volunteering etc nothing spectacular and essays are above average imo.</p>

<p>Brother graduated from Rice last year. HOOK?
Finally, sending only ACT score will have any adverse affect on my app?</p>

<p>Your scores are average or a little lower than average. You are involved and active, it seems. I think the fact your brother went there will help a lot. My sister is currently a third year at Rice and when I visited her a few weeks ago, one of her friends told me he had never heard of a sibling who hadn’t been accepted.</p>

<p>Sending only ACT would not have a negative effect. But why not send both? They aren’t bad!</p>
