if none of these schools are within my reach, can you please recommend some? interested in premed

You’ve got a shot at all of those, although a few are long shots just as they are for anyone else lol. UCSF and UCLA both high matches, UCB-match, Johns Hopkins, WUSTL and Vandy-Match/mid-low-match, Duke-Low-Match, Stanford-Reach.

If your essays are really good and personal, I would say all of those bump up some. As long as it shows your true character (some faults included) it’ll probably go over really nice :)

I never heard UCSF had undergraduate programs (maybe a 0-6 PharmD, a BS/MD, for instance)… UCSD, on the other hand, I’m willing to chance you for.

Stanford: Reach
Duke: Reach
JHU: High match
WUSTL: High match
Vanderbilt: High match
Berkeley: Match
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Low match

People are overestimating your chances for WUSTL. I’d probably guess 5% because they are stats-driven and interest-driven because they are trying hard to run up their rankings.

I don’t know much about the UCs (I live in the midwest), but your chances at the other schools are extremely low. I’d spend my time on other apps.
