"World I come from" - how my dad has influenced me (including how he has impacted my aspirations - I want to go to med school and become a neurosurgeon)
"Something you created" - N/A (I didn't have anything to put for this one, unfortunately)
"Anything else" - I explained about my summer activities and about my thesis (I sent in the first chapter [12 pages] to MIT); I also explained that I will be sending a music supplement with a CD to display my experience on the trombone (hopefully this will help me in getting in, b/c I'm not too sure how "unique" I am to MIT w/o my music)

Teacher Recs: excellent
Counselor Rec: excellent
Interview: None
Supplementary Material: Chapter 1 of Thesis and a Music Supplement

Overall, everything was pretty decent. My SAT I reading is a little lower than everything else, but all my stuff for the SAT is within MIT's range. My ACT is better than my SAT anyway, so they should look at that more. My strengths are my stats (GPA, scores, percentile), but my weakness is not enough extra stuff. I have music, but I don't know if that'll be enough. I tried to make my application pretty strong.

Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch.

(my sickness prevented me....) did you really have to tell us all that, we dont need excuses, your probly in, idk CR isnt great

^ Yeah, that did come off badly. What I meant was I didn't think I'd do great anyway, especially with a sickness. It was really hard and long (i could make a joke right now.....), and I don't think I would have done much better even if I had been perfectly healthy.

That's what she said.

The CR score probably won't affect you at all especially since you have the 34 ACT reading.

I really have no clue about your actual chances, I just posted to say "That's what she said."

Haha, yeah, I definitely wanted to say that. I typed it and just shook my head in both disgust at myself and trying to hold back laughter.

My M+CR score is a 1490, which is above MIT's average. I think if they reject or accept me, it won't be because of my scores. I'm going to expect rejection (or try to at least) because if they do reject me, then I won't be disappointed, but if they do accept me, I will be thrilled. It's a win-win situation (or something close to that).
