wow…that’s an amazing resume
but what is 97.2/100? gpa is a weighted average of your grades on a 4.0 scale (to account for class difficulty)

anyhow, im sure u can get in. i am a soph at washu and got in with far less qualifications

At my school our GPA is on a 100 point scale :\ It’s really horrible because AP/honors/college-level courses count the same as a regular class.

legen_dary- not all schools have weighted gpa’s. Some only report unweighted.

i think he meant “weighted average” in the sense that year-long classes are “weighted” compared to semester classes…

your school using an unweighted (honors “B+” = normal “B+”) scale won’t hurt you at all, hewittdy - even if your school didn’t let AP/honors/college courses count the same as regular classes, you’d still have to report them as if they did (ie “unweighted”), as colleges will always specify whether they want to see your unweighted or weighted gpa, and usually they want to see your unweighted gpa, along with your class schedule, just so they know you’re taking a rigorous enough schedule, which it looks like you are. best of luck.

BUMP.
So here’s the deal… I just got deferred from Brown and I’m seriously considering applying to WUSTL for RD. Please chance for RD? Thank you… and will chance back, if needed! :)

I doubt any of us know the system in enough detail to give a separate “chance” rating for ED vs RD. Just try to show interest if you can (e.g. visit the school or apply for scholarships) and it shouldn’t make much difference either way :)

Well, all I know is that WashU would be crazy if they didn’t accept you! You definitely have all the positive qualities they would like in a student. Plus, since you got deferred from Brown, you definitely have a chance at getting into WashU! I would know because not only have I applied there early decision, but I live less than a mile away from the main campus, so I have a lot of contact with the people there.

And Don_Quixote is right. If you show enough interest in the school, they will most likely accept you. I recommend that you contact the Undergrad Admissions office and ask them who the admissions officer is who represents your region. I would contact that person and try to convince him/her how much you would like to attend the school. That way, he/she could advocate for your admittance when the Admissions panel is reviewing your app.

Thank you everyone :)

You’ve got a very good resume there, you should be fine getting in if you show them your interest and present yourself through your essay. You’re in the target range for admissions, now you just need to show how unique you are to them, by communicating with them and showing yourself through your essay. Btw make your essay interesting to read, that always helps.
Some ppl go for the really detailed and boring stuff, trying to be all smart and technical but that’s not what the admissions officer really look for. It’s for the person’s personality defined through their writing and if he/she really would fit in their environment.
Btw your academic record and ECs are very good.
